Growing up in Southern California, Jeremiah was active in many different team sports as well as the Boy Scouts of America. Feeling a sense of duty to his country after reaching the rare and coveted rank of Eagle Scout, he joined the United States Navy in 1993. His tenacious mentality coupled with the skills of many years of competitive swimming, Greco-Roman, freestyle, and scholastic wrestling put him on the path of success through the rigorous “high intensity,” “high attrition” training of Rescue Swimmer School. He was one of 7 candidates that graduated out 45. For the next 8 years in a combat support role, he worked directly with the special operations community. Jeremiah was instrumental in insertions, extractions, vessel boarding, embassy evacuations, and urban assault training for foreign military allies, battle damage assessment as well as overland and oversea rescues in many different countries.
After completing his undergraduate degree in business administration which was accomplished by attending night school after putting in 12-hour work days, he was accepted into Officer Candidate School to become a Naval Aviator. Over the next half of his career as a helicopter pilot engaging in anti-piracy, anti-drug, and anti-submarine missions all over the world, he was highly regarded as a “fire and forget” officer who possessed unique abilities. These abilities earned him the call sign of “Wolf” by his Admiral due to similar traits of a fixer in the movie “Pulp Fiction.” Jeremiah retired from the Navy honorably after over 20 years of dedicated service.
Unable to lay low during retirement helping to raise his two stepchildren, Jeremiah established a niche business model that streamlined auto purchasing by providing tailored financial analysis and broker services to veterans, private individuals, and businesses. He maximized savings for clients through mediation and contract negotiation between consumers and the auto industry with pro-bono services to aid veterans and elderly citizens. To keep with the tradition of high tempo operations, Jeremiah enrolled and then completed an 18 month executive MBA program through the University of San Diego, all while incorporating and trademarking his business.
Jeremiah enjoys anything winter, cold weather vs hot, he is an avid skier and snowboarder. He loves to be on or in the water, fresh, salty, or brackish, on a paddle board, surf board or a boat. He has multiple diving certifications, and is as a licensed FAA commercial pilot who is not current. His real passion is traveling, whether it be by plane, train, or automobile, he’ll go just about anywhere. Jeremiah is happiest when he staycations at the Grand Californian at Disneyland, where it’s perfectly ok to let his inner child run amok without consternation.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill Lynch tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
