A former business owner, Sharam appreciates the many demands on clients’ time. Born in the Middle East, Sharam grew up dividing his time in India, France, and Canada. He welcomes a diverse clientele, appreciating the vibrancy of each client’s story. His approach is consultative and informed by the distinctive interests of each client or family. Sharam also integrates the insights of locally based specialists at Merrill, maintaining steady momentum in resolving client needs and discerning next steps.

Prior to joining Merrill, Sharam spent more than four years as a Financial Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. He began his advisory career in 2017 with Morgan Stanley. Earlier, Sharam spent 11 years as the founder and general manager of a company that designed, assembled, and marketed industrial thermal systems to a variety of industries, providing him with a sound perspective on the demands and decision points that entrepreneurs encounter.

Sharam earned his M.B.A. from Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, where he graduated with Academic Distinction.

In his free time, Sharam serves on several non-profit boards. He also enjoys sailing, hiking, and exploring the Bay Area.  He and his wife reside in the Peninsula with their two sons.

Mark Twain said it best – the day you’re born and the day you understand your purpose are pivotal. There are few matters in life as important as managing the assets and liabilities you have to achieve what you want out of life. So you should do this with the support of someone who truly loves what they do – not as a job, but as a deep commitment. I learned after 10 years of  starting and running a business in a completely different industry that my professional love (i.e. my purpose) lies in financial markets, helping people, and working with a small group of committed families. My only regret is not starting many years earlier.

Working with an Advisor who loves what he/she does is fundamentally important for you to receive the attention you deserve. I love what I do and take my clients’ success personally.

You need to work with someone who can help solve for what is valuable to you. This begins with open no-cost no-obligation conversations about non-financial aspirations in life, which then trails back to financial, tax, estate, and insurance planning strategies. Thus, aligning what is important to you with the resources (i.e. financial assets) you have.

There is no standard formula or template for effective wealth planning. Every person & family are different, and therefore, every journey is different. First understanding your needs and wants establishes a foundation. Then, tying what you own and owe to what you need/want to achieve (e.g. home purchase, college funding, vacation home, etc.) is where effective advisory takes place. Over the course of two to three meetings a baseline is established and a plan is devised. Thereafter, your tailored plan is established.
