Jon joined the Merrill Lynch team as a intern in 1988. In August of 1989 he was hired as a Merrill Lynch Sales Assistant, and in December of 1990 entered into the Merrill Lynch Financial Consultant Training Program. In 1993 he successfully graduated from the program and began his career developing strategies for families and their businesses to help them meet their short- and long-term financial goals. His career advanced to Senior Financial Consultant in 1996, Assistant Vice President 1998 and Vice President in 2003.
Jon holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor(sm)CRPC® designation from the College for Financial Planning.
Jon is a qualified Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill Lynch model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. When servicing clients through the firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. |Jon’s approach to wealth management is consultative, objective and committed to excellence. First, he takes the time to listen to and review client financial situations, preferences and goals. Second, he offers recommendations for asset allocations designed to accurately reflect each client’s income and growth expectations. And third, he follows up with discussions covering a wide range of opportunities, including investments, retirement, estate planning services and philanthropy.
As a member of The Merrill Lynch Optimal Practice Management Faculty and a keynote speaker, Jon provides peer-to-peer training of the firm’s advisors on a national level, focusing on best practices in Goals-Based Wealth Management.
Jon currently serves on the board of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Bridgeport. He and his family enjoy Skiing, Golf and Karate. Jon holds a Black Belt in Chung Doo Kwan as well as a Black Belt in Tang Soo Doo. He and his wife Christine live in Fairfield with their two children.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill Lynch tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
