At Rupert & Associates, we have a proud tradition of assisting clients whose hard work and strong values have brought them wealth and wisdom.

To serve our clients’ best interests in ways that many never expected, we work with a select group of individuals and families. This allows us to devote more attention to each client and create a proactive dynamic. By delivering timely intelligence and insight, we provide clients with thoughtful perspectives that help them anticipate and react to financial circumstances.

In addition to successful business owners facing a multitude of financial challenges, we serve attorneys, physicians, accountants, professors and administrators. We also assist retired, divorced and widowed individuals, as well as generations of extended families in Tallahassee, the surrounding area and more than 15 states. 

With decades of rich experience, we recognize the significance of placing ongoing emphasis on planning. Doing so allows us to help clients achieve what dollars and cents alone cannot – the deep, emotional fulfillment of having wealth and feeling comfortable in its enduring benefits. LISTENING AND PLANNING

At Rupert & Associates, we do not define clients by the value of their assets – but instead, by their priorities, aspirations and personalities.

Our clients span a wide range of life stages, experiences and the wealth continuum. Many are entering their peak earning years or nearing a well-deserved retirement. A growing number have traded their seat in an office for one on a golf cart, while others are pursuing their passions for adventure or philanthropy in their retirement years.

To fully appreciate how we can help each client, we listen to what they say (and often do not say). The fact is, we do much more listening than talking. To provoke meaningful conversation, we ask questions, “If you could write the script, what would your ideal life look like? What are you trying to accomplish? Who are you responsible for? What’s your family situation? And what brought you to our door?”

In discussing their families, we remind clients that part of our job is helping them leave memories, as well as money – that it’s important to find joy along the path to meaningful outcomes. In these conversations, we ask what clients may define as their life’s most rewarding moments to date.

From frequent and friendly discussions with both spouses (whenever possible), we can help them “see around corners” to prepare for what comes next, financially and emotionally. When clients feel comfortable conveying what’s on their minds and in their hearts, we can formulate effective strategies that satisfy their short- and long-term objectives. It is our practice to explain the rationale behind those strategies and what to expect going forward.

In everything we do, building trusted and enduring relationships with clients is critical. On many occasions, we have celebrated with clients at weddings, birthday and anniversary parties. We have also visited client families in hospital rooms and attended family memorials.

Ultimately, we do our best work for clients who can benefit from our comprehensive planning-based approach – one that continues over time to reflect changes in their situations, goals and market conditions. At Rupert & Associates, we are led by Jennifer Rupert, an established and highly regarded financial professional whose rigorous industry training has earned her a rare combination of advanced credentials.

Jennifer provides decisive leadership and firm guidance to clients facing myriad financial challenges. She has earned her stripes (and a largely referred clientele) by crafting disciplined strategies that help clients achieve realistic, real-world objectives. Proud to be the professional advisor who clients trust with the details of their lives, Jennifer finds that accompanying clients on their financial life journeys and celebrating their key milestones is especially rewarding.

As a team, we believe clients know we’re looking out for them – up to and through a rewarding retirement lifestyle. We don’t “set and forget” anything – not their strategy or portfolio. By staying in close personal contact, we stay updated on clients’ circumstances and perspectives. And we monitor their investments and tax situation to adjust for market dynamics and new opportunities. By doing our jobs well, we help clients who work and play hard, rest easily.

On a personal note, each of us has a natural affinity for appreciating clients and their families. In fact, a hallmark of our offering is being “approachable and available.” Our outstanding service is demonstrated by our knowledgeable client associates who adeptly handle clients’ transactional and account requests, in addition to connecting them with resources across Merrill and Bank of America.

We believe the strength of our client relationships becomes clear when clients ask to meet our spouses, just as we’ve met theirs. We also find it valuable to meet with clients’ teenage children to explain the responsibilities of wealth and the value of developing wise financial habits. Going the extra mile for clients is never going out of our way.

As our client, you can expect that we will be:

• Attentive to areas of your financial picture that may have been previously overlooked. We will examine the possible need for life, umbrella and long-term care insurance. We will also look at ways for you to utilize debt wisely and achieve greater tax efficiencies. If you are a business owner, you should know that we assist many others with everything from cash flow and liability management, to succession planning and employee benefit plans.

• Long-term investors. For many years, we have designed and managed customized client portfolios. Yours will be tailored to you and you alone – based on several factors including your investment timeline, need for liquidity, comfort with risk and tax situation. Rather than strive to outperform a stock index, our highly disciplined approach begins with your goals and the most prudent approach to satisfying them.

• Proactive and prepared to work with your CPA and attorney. Your estate should be structured to avoid – where possible – unnecessary expenses, risks, taxes and legal burdens. With your permission, we can align our efforts with your other advisors on tax minimization and estate planning strategies.

• Looking to enhance both sides of your balance sheet – assets and liabilities. We can provide ready access to specialists at Bank of America, N.A. for suitable solutions including residential and securities-based lending, construction and equipment financing, as well as cash management.

• Sensitive to your overall health and wellness, especially during retirement. We have held seminars and other events, including those with fitness, nutrition and cooking experts. We believe that being your financial advisory team entails a more significant role than you may have experienced elsewhere. We want to feel part of your life and enhance it however we can.
