Chris serves three primary types of clients: individuals, non-profit organizations, and private businesses. To assist in his capacity to offer advice and support, he has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation sponsored by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (The Institute) at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Chris is a Portfolio Manager, who can help clients pursue their objectives by managing on a discretionary basis his own Personalized or Defined Strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill Lynch model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies.
Chris has the privilege of helping individuals and families around the U.S. to pursue their financial objectives. He delivers a full spectrum of assistance and works with clients and their other advisors to develop their wealth management, retirement strategies, charitable giving, and legacy plans. He serves current and retired entrepreneurs, executives, philanthropists, lawyers, doctors, teachers, artists, entertainers, and others.
His support for charities is based on Chris's prior experience as a non-profit officer and consultant. He provides a wide array of financial services including fundraising resources, investment strategies, portfolio development, and retirement plans. He works with non-profits around the country including social service agencies, public policy groups, cultural organizations, and educational institutions.
Chris also assists corporations and partnerships in a wide range of sizes. In particular, he provides financial tools and advice to enterprises and their owners in varied industries such as technology, entertainment, medicine, finance, and construction.
Chris came to Merrill Lynch from another major financial firm in 2009 and has been working in the industry since 1999. Previously, he was a development director and a charitable fundraising, finance, and strategy consultant for nearly 10 years. He is immediate past board chair at City of Refuge (an urban mission bringing hope and life to those living on the margin in Atlanta) and a trustee at Trinity School. He also serves on the leadership council for Legacy Advisors at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, volunteers with Boys & Girls Clubs, and was a past president of the Georgia Planned Giving Council.
He, his wife, and his two children belong to Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where he teaches adult Sunday School and serves on the endowment committee. His personal interests include writing, music, history, cooking, and golf. Chris received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Yale College and his master’s degree from Oxford University.
