Based in Atlanta, Georgia, The Embleton Curtis Quackenbush Group is a close-knit team whose members have been managing clients' wealth since 1990. In the team's founding years, John Embleton, William Curtis and Schuyler Quackenbush helped families facing early retirement develop strategies for a comfortable transition into this new phase of their lives. Today, with a combined 70 years of industry experience, the team offers personalized wealth and portfolio management to a broad and varied clientele of affluent families and corporations located throughout the Southeast and around the country.

In many situations, capital preservation and income replacement are as important as wealth accumulation and growth. For this reason, we carefully measure your tolerance for risk and design appropriate short- and long-term strategies to help you prepare for the unexpected.

Risk Management

Managing risk entails knowing both how to minimize it and how to use it to your advantage. We generally recommend using a broad range of asset classes and investment vehicles—including individual stocks, bonds and exchange-traded funds—that we feel can provide the best risk-adjusted returns aligned with your investment objectives. We seek to mitigate downside risk while simultaneously positioning your portfolio to take advantage of the potential for positive returns in the long run. Our approach is not static, and from time to time we may tactically rebalance your portfolio by over- or underweighting an asset class relative to your target allocation.

Discretionary Portfolio Management
You can delegate to the Embleton Curtis Quackenbush Group investment management responsibilities for your portfolios, meaning that they have discretion over certain investment decisions surrounding your investment strategy. Once the Embleton Curtis Quackenbush Group have confirmed your goals and life priorities, as well as identified your portfolio investment objective, time horizon, risk factor and liquidity needs, they will recommend targeted asset allocations for your portfolios to help pursue your specific investment objectives. Granting us authority allows them to respond to market changes, price volatility and global events with the ability to make adjustments, if needed, to help your portfolio stay on track to pursue your goals. To help you monitor and assess performance, we will regularly review your portfolio with you, and you will receive periodic communications, including monthly statements, quarterly portfolio summary updates and annual performance reports.

This service can be coupled with Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Defined Contribution offering or plans recordkept by other service providers. Merrill Lynch will accept ERISA 3(21) fiduciary responsibility for the investment advice provided through Defined Contribution Investment Consulting and will stand behind its recommendations, which are backed by the investment screening process of Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management Investment Management and Guidance group.
