As a Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Len focuses on Multi-Generational Wealth Transfer Planning, which is a type of wealth planning with emphasis on generating and keeping wealth for future generations. He works with a select clientele of successful families, closely held businesses, and small to medium size non-profit organizations who value his philosophy of building long-term, constructive relationships. Employing a highly personalized consulting process by engaging in meaningful conversations with clients to gain a clear and mutual understanding of their unique financial objectives and family circumstances. Len's collaborative planning process strives to maximize wealth and family harmony by integrating experts and resources that can help families and businesses also address the emotional and psychological issues of stewarding, transferring and inheriting wealth.

Len has a Master’s of Taxation in Estate & Trust from the University of Denver. He has spent six years in Asia where he led a Japanese media company’s successful market entry to China and subsequently founded a corporate catering company, Pizza Now in Shanghai. The international business ownership experiences taught Len how to bring people and resources together to pursue a common vision despite a challenging and unfamiliar business and political environment. Through his experiences abroad, Len learned Japanese and Mandarin.

Recognized internationally and locally, Len was one of ten delegates selected by the State Department to represent the US at the 2001 APEC Young Leaders & Entrepreneurs conference in Shanghai. Len has acquired distinctive qualifications that help him to navigate his clientele through a complex and dynamic global economy.

In 2002, Len moved back to Hawaii and married Akiko, who is originally from Tokyo. Akiko works from home running her Japanese Public Relations consulting business. They have two young daughters Arisa and Lena. In his free time you will find Len surfing, sailing and supporting organizations that help disadvantaged youth and that conserve and protect our ocean’s resources.

 

I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.

We will work together to create a financial approach that reflects your investment personality and is built around your life priorities. I will be here to help you make adjustments to your wealth management approach if and when necessary over time.

My process is designed to help deliver a customized, consistent experience to assist clients not only in wealth accumulation and preservation, but in areas that go beyond investments. My ability to provide access to the investment insights of Merrill, trust and fiduciary services from Bank of America Private Bank, and the banking convenience and lending solutions of Bank of America offers a way to help clients manage all of the pieces of their financial lives. I view myself as a financial resource, helping clients with potential solutions for transferring wealth to the younger generation.
