With over a quarter century of experience, Joe is dedicated to providing a select clientele with the finest individually tailored approaches to personalized financial guidance and investment management. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin. Joe holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., the CERTIFIED PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISOR certification awarded by the Investments and Wealth Institute, and the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM designation.*

Joe has served on the Board of Directors for the Coeur d’Alene Area Chamber of Commerce and is a past member of the planned giving committee for The North Idaho College Foundation. He is the past president of the Hayden Lake Country Club as well as the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre.

Joe and his wife, both California natives, are 20 year residents of North Idaho and currently reside in Coeur d'Alene. They have three daughters and enjoy the benefits of living in the Pacific Northwest where their activities include boating, hiking, and golf during the summertime and skiing, snow shoeing, and ice skating during the winter months.
 
Registered Senior Client Associate Heather Bloom and Registered Client Associate Christopher Dallenbach oversee the team’s administrative services including new account opening, fed funds wire transfers, checking / visa card, and client internet access to their accounts.  Financial Advisor partners Matt Lyman, Heather Bolster, and Jeff Smith round out the team with an additional 50 years of cumulative wealth management experience.  The team works together in attempting to provide the optimal “client experience”.
 
 
Joe and his team’s mission is to be the single best source of financial counsel, wisdom, advice, and execution in the pursuit of their clients' and their families' lifelong economic goals. Their objective is to provide a sound intellectual framework for making financial and investment decisions utilizing experience, third-party expertise, and the abundant intellectual capital found within Merrill Lynch and Bank of America.

They are not newcomers to the challenges individuals with wealth face. Therefore, the team is able to devote substantial time and energy to drill down, evaluate, and tailor individual strategies for you. In the process, they hope to be responsive to your personal goals and focus on those services that contribute to simplifying your financial life on a daily basis.

The team’s primary focus is on helping clients accumulate, preserve, and distribute wealth in close coordination with their legal and accounting professionals. They facilitate the development and implementation of personalized investment objectives and asset allocation strategies**; investment selection; performance measurement; home financing and liability management***.

I help you design, implement and periodically monitor a customized wealth management strategy that helps you and your family pursue your personal financial goals while managing investment risk. My wealth management approach is about using wealth to help turn goals into reality.

Drawing upon research in the field of behavioral finance, Merrill developed the Investment Personality Assessment to help me get to know you better as an investor and help you refine your investing preferences. By gaining a deeper understanding of how you think and feel about investing, through this assessment I can customize financial strategies together. Using an understanding of your priorities and investment personality as a foundation, I help you access the full breadth of resources from Bank of America’s banking products and services and Merrill’s investment insights to address all aspects of your financial life.

My process is designed to help deliver a customized, consistent experience to assist clients not only in wealth accumulation and preservation, but in areas that go beyond investment management. My ability to provide access to the investment insights of Merrill, as well as banking, trust and fiduciary services from Bank of America offers a way to help clients manage all of the pieces of their financial lives. I view myself as a financial resource, helping clients with strategies for transferring wealth to the younger generation.
