If you take a peek into any of your local financial advisors offices, what are you most likely to see? Typically you will find a single client associate, servicing several financial advisors. We prefer to do things differently. We utilize a 3-tiered team approach, assuring each and every client is served by at least three professionals.

The GRG path to excellence is to serve clients with a investment manager, a relationship manager and at least one client associate.

We look at wealth management much like building a skyscraper. Your relationship manager is your architect. They will work with you closely to design a financial architecture that protects your aspirations, while withstanding outside pressures like - inflation, market volatility and taxes. Your investment manager is much like the general contractor. It is their job to choose the materials that go into the building, bringing the architects vision to life. Finally you have your client associate, who like all administrative staff, is the lifeblood that keeps the wheels turning standing by to help with any and all administrative needs.

A Rules Based Approach

Until the early 1970's, there was a large discrepancy between the way institutional investors and retail investors operated. Till this point, the average American investor held a few, cherry picked domestic stocks. Meanwhile, institutional investors had access to large funds spread out over hundreds of stocks, from dozens of countries,  grouped together in "mutual" categories. These Mutual Funds allowed institutional investors to structure their portfolios carefully weighing acceptable levels of risk against their expected return.

Then, in 1974, everything changed.

John Bogle, the founder of Vanguard, opened The First Index Investment Trust. This fund allowed mom and pop investors to own the entire market, and people loved it. By 1980, 5.7% of households held shares of mutual funds. Today that number has risen to over 45%. 

Here we encounter Rule #1 of the market. "Where capital is most abundant, value is least." Said another way: If you do what everyone else is doing, you're going to get what everyone else gets. Only by changing our paradigm can we seek out the value in the market.

It is type of thinking that leads our rules-based approach to the markets. Regardless of size, we apply the same disciplined approach to each and every client. It is the GRG Signature.

You can choose to delegate the investment management of your portfolios to Leslie Grigg. Once we have confirmed your investment objective, time horizon, risk appetite, and liquidity needs, Les will design a tailored portfolio built to meet your specific investment objectives. Granting him authority allows him to respond quickly to market changes, helping your portfolio stay on track. To help you keep track and assess performance; you will receive monthly statements, quarterly summaries, and annual performance updates. In addition to the written correspondence, we sit down in person with each and every one of our clients annually to review the portfolio.
