Who do we serve? A loyal and accomplished clientele - from all walks of life - who share a desire for the guidance and perspective a trusted advisory team can provide. Many clients live in the Chicago area, while others reside throughout Illinois and in 19 other states.

Inertia is a common enemy of advisors and clients alike. By demonstrating initiative and being proactive, we differentiate ourselves from many other advisory teams. We believe in moving forward with clients, sharing to-do lists, and getting things done.

At The Lorenz Wealth Management Group, we believe in serving fewer clients with excellence, rather than many clients with mediocrity. This principle has led to us digging deeper on behalf of a limited circle of client families – and having the ability to discuss, explore, and follow up on a host of financial issues that matter to clients.

Through multiple discussions and meetings, we develop knowledge and appreciation for what’s on a client’s mind and in their heart. Every client – indeed every person – has a unique perspective on their personal finances, what values they place on the importance of money, and what roles their financial advisors should play in their lives. Learning a client’s priorities and values is an ongoing process. The more time we are able to spend with clients, the better able we are to formulate appropriate strategies and adapt in a timely fashion to changing conditions.

As a wealth management team, we are dedicated to increasing the probability of each client’s financial success. Equally important to the end result, we want our clients to enjoy the ride. Being informed, educated, and prepared allows each client to handle life’s financial challenges with the appropriate response – both financial and emotional.


We take pride in our ability to share our experience with clients by articulating concepts in simple terms. Additionally, we apply the knowledge we’ve gained over the years in two ways:

First, we take time to educate clients about the lessons we’ve learned. Investor expectations and fears can often be misaligned to the realities of the markets. That’s why we feel that an educated investor is a prepared investor.

Second, our experience tells us to abide by our own set of principles and guidelines – ones we’ve followed for more than two decades:

  • Never promise what we cannot deliver.
  • What we do is more important than what we say we do.
  • Explain fully, communicate clearly, and help clients avoid navigating by emotion.
  • Engage with both spouses and entire families (whenever possible). This enables us to understand family dynamics and how they shape our clients’ views.
  • Always do what is right – especially when nobody is watching.
  • Be transparent – clients expect nothing less.
  • Learn from and admit our mistakes. Clients don’t expect us to be perfect, but they deserve our honesty.
  • Be reliable and prompt. Treat clients’ requests as we would expect ours to be treated.
  • Address each question to the clients’ satisfaction. If the client doesn’t understand it, it’s not answered.

Ultimately, we believe clients choose to work with us, stay with us, and refer others because of the overall value we deliver – and because we listen, follow up, follow through, and are reliable.
