Services For a Wide Range of Institutional Clients

At the core of our capabilities, our team is guided by an investment process that seeks to manage for risk while considering return objectives and spending needs. The services we offer include:

Setting investment strategy. We offer access to thoughtful guidance to help clients create an investment policy statement, or review and update an existing one. Once the policy is in place, we work with clients to design and implement customized investment strategies that align with the organization’s mission, values and objectives.

Designing an investment portfolio. Our customized investment approach takes into account each institution’s goals and objectives, liquidity needs, tolerance for risk, time horizon and investment policy guidelines while also taking into consideration costs. We typically recommend a broad range of asset classes that may include hedge funds, private equity and managed futures.

Evaluating investment selection. Our team has developed a process that helps us screen out any investments that would not align with your institution’s socially responsible investment policy. We are thoughtful in building an investment menu, taking into account your institutional values.

Selecting portfolio managers. Investment portfolio strategies are designed for implementation through nonproprietary, third-party managers who have been carefully evaluated and selected using BofA Global Research resources. We recommend individual managers based on client-driven investment criteria, and our team continues to evaluate their performance against relevant benchmarks.

Why Work with Us?

Our guidance goes beyond the portfolio. We understand the key issues facing your organization, and we approach these issues from an investment, governance and balance sheet perspective. We draw on the experience and wisdom gained in our personal and professional lives to provide support and help guide your decision making.

We are a bridge to Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Institutional Consulting resources. These broad and deep resources include Institutional Investments & Philanthropic Solutions, and the Specialty Asset Management Group for managing unique, illiquid gifts such as timber, farmland and oil and gas leases, as well as Bank of America banking specialists for services such as cash flow management, investment banking and corporate and commercial banking.

We are committed to transparency and visibility. We adhere to full disclosure when quantifying fees. The size and scope of Bank of America and Merrill often allow us to negotiate competitive fees with third-party, nonproprietary portfolio managers, in turn potentially reducing costs for the client.

"Reaching well beyond the traditional role of an investment consultant, we offer strategic guidance, as well as access to the resources of Bank of America Merrill Lynch to help organizations actively pursue their broader goals and mission"

Scott Kelly, CIMA®
Senior Vice President

Advice Access is an investment advisory program sponsored by Merrill that uses a probabilistic approach to determine the likelihood that participants in the program may be able to achieve their specified annual retirement income goal and/or to identify a potential wealth outcome that could be realized. Additionally, the recommendations provided by Advice Access may include a higher level of investment risk than a participant may be personally comfortable with. Participants are strongly advised to consider their personal goals, overall risk tolerance, and retirement horizon before accepting any recommendations made by Advice Access. Participants should carefully review the explanation of the methodology used, including key assumptions and limitations, which is provided in the Advice Access disclosure document (ADV Part 2A) statement. It can be obtained through Benefits OnLine or through your representative.

IMPORTANT: The projections or other information shown in the Advice Access program regarding the likelihood of various investment outcomes are hypothetical in nature, do not reflect actual investment results and are not guarantees of future results. Results may vary with each use and over time.
