John Doyle is a highly experienced Financial Advisor with more than twenty two years of experience providing Wealth Management services and consultation to Corporate Executives, Business Owners, Professionals such as Physicians and College Professors and Non-Profit Corporation Endowments.
John obtained his BA and MA from Boston College in 1976 and 1980 respectively. Following his time at Boston College he spent three and a half years in the Peace Corps, two years as a volunteer and one and half years as a Project Training Director. He then spent the next 15 years in the human services field before joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in the fall of 1997.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant, he assists his clients to address their total financial situation including their investment savings goals, their financing needs, their insurance needs and potential estate planning issues for discussion with an attorney. At the beginning of most client relationships John develops a Wealth Management analysis that becomes the road map for identifying and addressing his clients financial needs.
John uses a very thorough profiling process to help his clients manage, grow and preserve their wealth, one that takes into consideration their investment objectives, liquidity needs, investment time horizon and appetite for risk for each of their financial goals. He draws on Merrill’s vast array of sophisticated investment platforms and resources to develop state of the art portfolios for meeting his client investment objectives.
In his work with business owners he helps them manage grow and preserve their personal wealth, identify and implement commercial financing solutions, develop, implement and monitor their company’s retirement plan, identify business insurance needs and products to meet these needs, and business succession planning including the sale or partial monetization of their business utilizing the Merrill lynch Private Sales Network service.
When working with corporate executives John has been able to help them identify and implement hedging and tax minimization diversification strategies for their concentrated stock positions, explore and implement unique lending options as an alternative to liquidating their securities. He has extensive knowledge and experience with Rule 144 stock and block trading for the sale of large stock positions.
John has helped various professionals including a good number of Physicians and College Professors to develop Wealth Management plans that include the development of asset allocation strategies and investment portfolios that are crafted to meet their different financial goals.
John has extensive experience assisting non-profit corporations with their endowments and reserve funds many of whom must adhere to an Investment Policy Statement. Drawing on his many years as a human services professional he is qualified to understand and assist his non-profit corporate clients. He has been able to incorporate Merrill’s Chief Investment Office ESG Impact portfolios which are aligned with the investment philosophies of many of these institutions.
After carefully assessing a number of highly qualified financial advisor teams, John joined the Nahill, Dunn, Doyle and Smith team at the start of 2019 in order to provide his clients with an even broader array of knowledge and experience now and into the future.
I follow the deep-seated Merrill tradition of participating in the communities we serve. This drives my interest in spending time volunteering with organizations in our community.
