Our Story

Our founder, Peter Eckerline, began his career at Merrill in 1983 with a long-term goal in mind: to be the preeminent provider of wealth management advice and guidance to individuals and families in Minnesota and the greater Midwest – to serve, guide, and support like no other team. As Peter’s career progressed, he incrementally welcomed new members to the team, carefully vetting each individual to align with client needs and the team’s overarching values. 

Today, the Eckerline Wealth Management Group is nine-members strong. We continue to embrace the vision that Peter forged for our team, insisting on the highest quality of advice, service, and dedication. Our leadership team now includes Krystal Julius, a long-time collaborator with Peter and a trusted partner, as well as Mark Eckerline, Peter’s brother and a 40-year wealth management veteran, and Madeline Thun, a skilled investment professional who has been with the team since 2014. 

Our team is anchored by our administrative and service professionals whom we believe are without equal. Client families are quick to note their excellence—and we concur. They include Martha LeWin, Laura Traxler, Wendy Meyer, Lynn Eckerline, and Britta Sorensen. These committed professionals are the engine that drives our work. Their continuity and tenure with our team speak to our cohesiveness as a group and the collegiality that infuses our office. We care deeply about each other, and that spirit manifests in the way we support shared goals for client outcomes. 

When we speak with clients, discuss their aspirations, chart their progress, and hear of their life events, we feel the same energy and enthusiasm that has guided our work from the beginning. That framework includes varied wealth disciplines, like investment management, banking and lending, strategy and planning, trust and estate planning services, insurance, and philanthropy. But it also includes other “once-off” questions that arise, requiring a steady hand and persistent effort. 

We look to be a single source for financial answers—whatever the issue or need. We know that wealth issues are people issues, family issues, and life issues. We are gratified to ease someone’s burden, connect a person to the right resource, resolve a long-standing concern, or simply listen when someone needs an empathetic ear. We are Advisors and Associates, but also mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, siblings, and community members.
