What matters most to you – and what brings you here? Perhaps you have investments in different places and no clear strategy that connects them to your financial goals. Or maybe optimizing and organizing your financial life requires time you simply do not have.

At The Hirsch Stabile Group, we work closely with highly accomplished individuals and organizations who are as motivated as we are. And rather than categorize these ambitious clients by arbitrary guidelines – such as age or life stage – we view each of them as having specific financial, personal and emotional characteristics that dictate how we can serve their best interests.

As longtime proponents and practitioners of Goals-Based Wealth Management, we put each client at the center of a highly personalized and integrated financial strategy. This allows us to look forward with clients, to help them prepare for distinct opportunities and challenges (both likely and unlikely).

Philosophy

Overseeing approximately $1 Billion in client assets as of January 1st, 2018, our goal is to act as a steward of your wealth by creating and implementing creative strategies that grow assets responsibly in up markets, while providing improved downside capture during challenging markets, so that personally meaningful life goals are not compromised. Helping you to achieve your goals is the most important aspect of our relationship and regular interactions.   

As such, asset allocations are methodically devised and driven by client goals, not by short term market conditions. We inherently believe in increasing risk exposure to assets we want to own for the very long term during market, sector, or company corrections. We believe the world is flat, and invest globally, tax efficiently, and systematically. For clients with low liquidity needs, we capitalize on illiquidity premium by allocating to private equity. We are data driven not emotion driven, and strive to educate and coach our clients on the benefits of doing so.

We remind clients, “What you’ve accomplished is a given. Where you go from here is how we can help.” 

As goal-based financial advisors, we begin – not with investments – but with our Behavioral Discovery Process during which we ask questions, listen and learn about “life factors” that distinguish you from everyone else. We want to know about your experience with investing, your life, family and achievements. What are your “hot” issues and what’s been in the back of your mind for a while?

You have a unique personality, circumstances, and aspirations. Therefore, it’s appropriate that we develop a clear notion of what a fulfilling life means to you. We take no shortcuts to embracing your objectives – and crafting a smart, disciplined and defined strategy to help meet them. From there, we employ goal-focused benchmarks to measure your progress, keep you on track, and keep your goals within reach. As part of our systematic progress measurement, we provide clear updates on your progress to achieving your goals, both from an investment and planning perspective.  

We also believe in providing a high level of transparency in terms of investing.

Once crafted, we actively manage each portfolio, regularly monitor performance, and stay in touch – to keep pace with changes in markets and your circumstances.  We always seek opportunities to capitalize on market created inefficiencies.

Are We a Fit?

We are proud of how we serve clients – and even prouder of the clients we serve. The success of clients has spread them far and wide, to include extended families residing in the New York area and nationwide.

They include technology and media entrepreneurs, financial and other corporate executives, and attorneys. While diverse in profession and passion, clients can best be distinguished by their busy lifestyles and specialized needs:

  • When assisting entrepreneurs, we help them plan and prepare – ideally a year before a liquidity event. In advance of and throughout a sale or acquisition cycle, we develop timetables and strategies, often in concert with tax advisors, trust attorneys and investment bankers.
  • Because we help financial and corporate executives manage wealth that often includes concentrated stock or options, we aim to balance “career risk and investment risk” through hedging, liquidity and diversification strategies.
  • On behalf of attorneys, we work to appreciate the intricacies of their partnerships. When formulating a tax-deferred retirement strategy, we consider the effect of partnership equity, a client’s 401K, defined benefit, cash balance plan, and other vehicles. This is especially important for attorneys in transition.
