Michael brings more than 35 years of rich wealth management experience to financially sophisticated clients, many he’s served for decades. As part of his goals-based approach, Michael helps affluent clients examine and move toward realistic financial objectives.
Rather than begin with investments, Michael guides clients in exploring meaningful financial outcomes. He asks: “What are your greatest financial concerns? How do you prioritize financial goals for you and your family? Are you trying to retire comfortably, save for college, buy a second home, boat, or support a cause?” Once client aspirations are clarified, Michael analyzes distinct aspects of their financial circumstances. Often, he brings clients’ advisors “to the table” to align tax and estate planning strategies with those for investments, retirement and succession planning, college savings, and insurance. Michael recognizes that healthy financial pictures reflect thoughtful wealth management strategies that are monitored for meeting clients’ changing needs.
Michael is a qualified Portfolio Manager, who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, options, Merrill Lynch model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. When servicing clients through the Firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis. Michael also gives clients access to Bank of America, N.A. for residential lending and securities-based lending (which can help business owners, especially, with financing and cash management).
“As a dedicated financial advisor, I act in each client’s best interest,” says Michael. “They include attorneys, business owners, senior Wall Street executives, retirees and their grown children. They live in 25 states and I stay in close contact with each of them. That’s how I help clients take advantage of financial opportunities and prepare for life’s transitions.”
|In 1976, Michael joined Merrill Lynch, working initially on the municipal bond desk. Today, he shares his deep knowledge of investments and market dynamics with clients. Michael believes that education and portfolio transparency are critical to building trusted relationships, especially when preserving wealth and confidence are primary goals.
Michael and his wife, Barbara, reside in Westchester County, New York. Michael earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Political Science from Ithaca College and a Masters in Public Administration from the NYU Graduate School of Public Administration.
