Rohit’s global perspective on managing clients’ wealth and expectations has been influenced in great part by his life experiences.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Rohit and his family moved to New Delhi, India when he was six years old. In high school, Rohit moved to Singapore and in 2001 to Columbus. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University, Rohit joined Merrill Lynch in 2005.

A lifetime learner and strong proponent of educating clients, Rohit finds that clients who play a role in developing their strategies are far more likely to follow a wise financial course. Rohit holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., as well as the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation.

In a rapidly changing global economy and domestic tax environment, Rohit characterizes his approach as disciplined and holistic – weighing each client’s objectives with the realities of market dynamics, to create consistent returns that can fulfill stated goals.

Outside of the office, Rohit is a “loud and proud” fan of Buckeyes football and basketball. He and his wife, Shipra, reside in Columbus, where she is an Interior Designer with a decade of experience.

My career has afforded me relationships and friendships beyond what I ever expected. Many clients have come to me from a previous advisor – in need of more personal attention and often, more specialized knowledge. I bring all clients what I consider “hands-on, ears-open” wealth management.

Among the clients I know especially well are employees at institutions of higher learning and other state entities. By understanding their pension plans and spending time to appreciate each client’s needs, I formulate customized retirement strategies that address their concerns about reliable income streams, health care, mitigating investment risk and tax consequences.

Mostly through referrals, I’ve also come to assist active and retired physicians, corporate executives (many with concentrated stock), “millionaires next door” who’ve sacrificed and saved, generations of their families, and non-profit organizations (including churches).

Regardless of a client’s financial acumen, I’m devoted to educating and simplifying their financial lives. It’s also important that clients know where they stand, what they own and why. While clients are distinct in their accomplishments and preferences, each can benefit from having an honest, long-term relationship with a responsive financial advisor. I enjoy serving people who value my integrity and sincerity.

Planning-Based Approach

Over the past decade, I’ve honed a thoughtful, planning-based approach in which clients are asked to identify ambitions and concerns, for themselves and their families.

Engaging with both spouses whenever possible and entire families (in many cases), I prefer to meet with clients where they feel most comfortable – at their homes or offices, for example. I feel strongly that exploratory discussions with clients are not a “one-time event” – that as life unfolds, strategies must be reviewed and adjusted accordingly.

To fully appreciate clients and help fulfill their visions of meaningful wealth, I believe in:

• Examining distinct aspects of clients’ financial picture – some which may have been previously neglected. By examining wealth transfer, tax minimization and estate planning issues, I can help clients more efficiently preserve and pass along their wealth.

• Focusing on real-world outcomes, rather than monetary goals. I help each client articulate their personal meaning of success – whether it would be traveling extensively during retirement, purchasing a second home, creating a foundation, or all three.

• “Bringing the right people to the table.” To serve each client’s best interests, I often coordinate with their CPAs and attorneys, and call upon the firm’s specialists from Bank of America, NA. and U.S. Trust.

No two investment strategies are alike because no two investors are alike. I'll examine several components — your life priorities, investment personality and financial situation — to help create an actionable strategy with personalized advice and measurable goals. I'll be here with you every step of the way, helping you track progress to your goals and working with you to adjust your investment strategy over time if or as needed.
