My curiosity and passion for learning took me to Hampton University in Virginia, where the many gifts of my education remain with me today. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in 2005, I was recruited to work in corporate finance by Verizon Communications and started my career with them in Dallas. While working in Dallas, I earned my MBA in business management from the University of Dallas. Verizon transferred me to their Headquarters in New Jersey, where I worked until 2013.
After Verizon, I joined State Farm Insurance in New York City. Business ownership was something I always wanted to try my hand at. I was offered that opportunity, moving to Dallas to open my own State Farm Insurance agency. I returned home to Oklahoma City in 2019 to help family, joining Merrill the following year.
My passions for financial literacy, as well as equality & inclusion in the classroom and boardroom led me to serve on the Urban League board. I also volunteer with the American Heart Association, ReMerge, Oklahoma State University Foundation, Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, Junior Achievement as well as John Marshall Academy of Finance. I appreciate the arts, including painting, music and dance, while practicing yoga whenever I can. I love to travel, especially to the Caribbean.
