Welcome
At Robertson Terrill Gypmantasiri Gunnari & Associates, we work hand-in-hand with people whose efforts and accomplishments have brought them wealth and opportunity. To address the complexities of our clients’ financial lives – both professional and personal – we have designed our practice accordingly, with a service model similar to that of a multi-family office.
As of January 1st, 2024, our team is entrusted with over $1.7 billion in assets belonging to established business owners, entrepreneurs, “millionaires next door” who’ve sacrificed and saved, professionals, successful women, members of the LGBTQ community, and generations of families primarily on the West Coast and throughout the country.
With two of our principals recognized repeatedly by Forbes for their achievements as wealth advisors, we are proud – not only of our industry accolades – but also of the exceptional level of care and consideration we deliver to clients. It is our belief that the trusted client relationships we enjoy reflect our team’s character and integrity. Being transparent with clients is part of our shared mission. The referrals we receive tell us we’re fulfilling our mission and clients’ goals.
From the outset of each relationship, we help clients explore and prioritize their most cherished goals for themselves and the people they love. By asking questions and listening more than talking, we help clients identify the purpose of their wealth, so that the strategy we formulate on their behalf can help them feel comfortable in its pursuit. Rather than being a one-time event, our highly disciplined, planning process continues over time, to address what clients envision in the near future and encounter along the way.
Today, we are a diverse, multi-generational team of dedicated professionals. In addition to our relationships with clients, spouses, parents and children evolving naturally, our ages help ensure what clients deserve in the years ahead – a seamless continuity of strategy and service.
Tradition of Care and Integrity
At Robertson Terrill Gypmantasiri Gunnari & Associates, we have a proud story that continues to be told. It revolves around the specialized needs of ambitious clients and generations of their extended families.
With more than 100 years of combined wealth management experience and our desire to treat clients like family members, we know that value extends well beyond “dollars and cents.” It’s best measured over time, by the delivery of highly purposed wealth management – offered with an authentic, personal touch.
As one of the first wealth management teams established in Oregon, our success also reflects our track record and the loyalty of clients. Having managed their money and emotions amid the volatility of the 2000 Tech Bubble, 2008 Financial Crisis and the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, we feel good knowing that virtually all of those clients remain with us today. We believe that’s due in large part to our enlightened perspective on mitigating investment risk and helping clients follow the strategy we designed and mutually agreed upon.
Results and relationships matter to us. With a financial advisor and client associate assigned to each client, we are fully invested in supporting them whenever a need arises. Clients can expect our full attention, collective acumen, and the extensive resources of our firm.
What hasn’t changed over the years? We continue to think about clients – evenings and on weekends. And we ask ourselves questions. “What are we missing? What can we do to increase their return on life in a meaningful way? What opportunity did we introduce to one client that may help another?” We also send articles and notes to clients that may interest or help them. We recognize the opportunity we have and that clients can go anywhere. We are appreciative and take our roles very seriously.
Managing Significant Wealth
At Robertson Terrill Gypmantasiri Gunnari & Associates, we have the experience and demonstrated ability to manage large concentrations of wealth for individuals, families and family offices.
Each member of our team has a distinct competency on a single aspect of wealth management – from equity and fixed-income investing, to alternative investments*, retirement income planning, tax minimization and estate planning services, insurance, and succession planning. It is our practice to formulate and carefully review multi-pronged strategies as sophisticated as the challenges facing our clients.
What Do We Believe?
• It’s critical to formulate a client’s cash flow strategy before considering their portfolio allocation. As a result, each investment recommendation comes from our interpretation of a client's cash flow needs and Personal Wealth Analysis. Once we understand these, we help establish an asset allocation that reflects the client's goals and objectives.
• It’s incumbent on us to build a highly personal and trusted dynamic with busy clients. Inherent in that is providing full transparency and clear communication – in the effort to clarify, simplify and organize.
• “Going the extra mile is never going out of our way.” Clients lead busy lives. They may be eyeing their next venture, building a second home, sending kids to college, or purchasing a car or boat. We regularly coordinate with third parties to wire money, send documents and finalize details.
• Part of our job is helping prevent clients from making emotional decisions. As caring advisors, we try to “walk with clients” through challenging periods or transitions. We have helped widows sort through financial records and met with entire families to discuss areas of disagreement.
• “Leave no stone unturned.” We examine clients’ entire balance sheet – assets and liabilities. Working with Bank of America, N.A., we can also review for fraud, alert clients when they miss credit card payments, and offer residential, securities-based and business lending solutions.
• When it comes to investments, we must cater to the specific needs, goals, timelines and liquidity needs of each client. Taking a total-return approach, a client’s portfolio may include stocks, bonds, ETFs and alternative investments* (non-correlated assets that we deem attractive and likely to reduce volatility).
Each of us feels privileged to help enhance clients’ wealth and wellbeing – as it moves across stages of their careers and generations. Ultimately, we judge ourselves not by the assets we manage, but how we improve the lives we touch.
*Some or all alternative investment programs may not be in the best interest of certain investors. No assurance can be given that any alternative investment’s investment objectives will be achieved.
The Clients We Serve
At Robertson Terrill Gypmantasiri Gunnari & Associates, we focus on bringing a requisite level of knowledge and know-how to clients – especially those with lives and money in constant motion.
Rather than wait for clients to encounter challenges or decisions that we foresee, we stand behind them by getting out in front of circumstances they anticipate and those they don’t. Doing so allows us to present thoughtful recommendations with sufficient time for them to decide how to proceed.

*Some or all alternative investment programs may not be in the best interest of certain investors. No assurance can be given that any alternative investment’s investment objectives will be achieved.
*Impact investing and/or Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) managers may take into consideration factors beyond traditional financial information to select securities, which could result in relative investment performance deviating from other strategies or broad market benchmarks, depending on whether such sectors or investments are in or out of favor in the market. Further, ESG strategies may rely on certain values based criteria to eliminate exposures found in similar strategies or broad market benchmarks, which could also result in relative investment performance deviating.
