Patrick began his career at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2001, shortly after earning his Bachelor’s degree in finance from Wofford College.  Patrick is a firm believer that good fortune alone brings in few boats that are not steered, and that most families need a well-designed, consistently reviewed and easily articulated wealth management plan. 

Wealth management is not static, it is dynamic.  Managing significant wealth is more than a matter of portfolio construction.  It is a process, built through a series of discussions and actions, that can help you transform your financial vision into reality.  As a client, you are our focal point - and we will strive to offer you a consistent experience that is both disciplined and inspiring.  From the very beginning, our goal is to get to know you and your family.  The more we understand your motivations, the better equipped we will be to assist you in managing your wealth.  Our advice and guidance can help bring simplicity and clarity to your financial life.

Patrick is a qualified Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies. These may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, Merrill model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies.  When servicing clients through the firm’s Investment Advisory Program, a Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis.  Patrick holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER CFP® certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.  He has held that since January 14th, 2008.  He also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorTM CRPCTM designation that is awarded by The College for Financial Planning Institutes Corp. and had since 2003.

Patrick lives in Charleston with his wife, Erin, and their three children, Rory, Teddy and Knox.

By gaining a deeper understanding of how you think and feel about investing through this assessment, we can customize the financial approach we develop together to help you pursue what matters most to you. Our Investment Personality Assessment is one of the ways to help us get to know you - to understand your goals and priorities. These questions will help us provide you with additional insights and resources.
