Rodrigo brings more than 30 years of rich international wealth management experience to a loyal circle of affluent clients throughout the U.S. and abroad. On behalf of private business owners and multiple generations of families, Rodrigo’s global perspective and highly personal service may prove particularly attractive.

Rodrigo has a deep understanding of the global regulations affecting the countries where his clients reside. His knowledge of currency issues, inflation, wealth transfer, and tax consequences* also allows him to construct forward-thinking strategies meant to serve future generations.

For Rodrigo, understanding the culture of clients, their comfort with investing, and what they envision for their families is critical. Traveling extensively to meet with clients, Rodrigo also meets with internal and external analysts to get a timely look at new opportunities. To craft a customized investment portfolio for each client, he uses Merrill financial models and strategic research**.

Rodrigo believes that all clients deserve a thoughtful, customized strategy that addresses wealth planning. He leverages his access to Merrill and Bank of America specialists to help clients structure succession planning across generations.

“Each client’s achievements have led to significant wealth. It’s incumbent upon me to help manage their wealth and expectations,” Rodrigo says. “Often, new clients have assets concentrated in emerging markets – with investments in their own countries. I believe in the power of diversification across all asset classes in developed countries, including the U.S. and Europe. I may also recommend alternative investments*** to help enhance performance and reduce volatility in portfolios. Results and relationships matter to the clients I serve.”

Rodrigo adds, “I am driven by my passion for delivering excellent service and helping clients pursue their goals. I focus on delivering a comprehensive approach to managing wealth that begins with listening to a client's needs and helping to ensure that each strategy is grounded in understanding what each client wants to achieve."

Born and raised in Chile, Rodrigo began his financial services career in 1987 at Citibank Private Bank in New York. There, he was served high-net-worth clients based mostly in Latin America. Since joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 1998, Rodrigo has continued to attract an international clientele as well as U.S.-based clients who value the dedication and insights of an experienced advisor.

Rodrigo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and International Business from the Stern Business School at New York University. Rodrigo lives in Yonkers, New York with his wife, Andrea, and their three children.
