She has helped client's explore the sale of a business, connect them with other professionals, consolidate numerous retirement plans and insurance policies, and hosted meetings to address the needs of different family members.
Nikki considers herself a caring "life advisor" for clients, many of whom are active and retired business owners and corporate executives. She says, "I enjoy helping clients who really need my energy and resourcefulness. Both allow me to address situations beyond what many expect from an advisory relationship. I help clients explore retirement, work-optional lifestyles, how to invest an inheritance, strategies for Social Security, and tax-efficient strategies to support their family or a worthy cause. I also open lines of communication with clients'' CPAs and attorney, to facilitate a more comprehensive planning approach.
To learn from clients, Nikki asks questions, "What brings you here - and why now? What's your greatest financial concern - your retirement, an inheritance, your family's future, or something entirely different? What's been your experience with investing? And what role would you like me to play?"
When it comes to investments, Nikki utilizes the firm's Chief Investment Office and its award winning analysts. Most important to Nikki is that each portfolio is diversified across many asset classes (typically equities, bonds, ETFs and alternative investments*) and uncomplicated, so that clients can understand what they own.
Nikki is a lifetime learner who finds that her industry training allows her to deliver an extra measue of knowledge and know-how. She holds the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation from the American College and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, CPFA® designation, awarded by the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
Nikki follows the deep seated Merrill tradition of giving back to her community. After travelling the world with her husband's military career, she has been excited to set down roots and enjoys volunteering in her community, especially with non-profits like Allied Arts and many others.
