At Hayne Moon and Associates, we believe the value of an advisory team extends well beyond “dollars and cents.” Instead, it’s best measured over time, by the delivery of highly professional, proactive and purposed wealth management. • “Keeping clients educated and updated.” Transparency is a hallmark of our team and a critical component in nurturing each client relationship. At the outset, we point out distinct aspects of clients’ financial puzzles that require examination. From liability management to legacy planning, we show clients that managing wealth demands more than keeping an eye on the markets. And when it comes to investing, we remind clients that “time in the market” is a more reliable barometer of success than “timing the market.”

• “Keeping things simple.” We are well aware of the significant demands placed on clients’ lives and the complex financial challenges they may face. Still, we ask for clients to become as involved as they can be – in understanding the strategy we craft for them, what they own, and why. We also ask clients to identify their concerns about market fluctuation (or risk, in general), so that they can stay disciplined in avoiding emotional financial decisions. Time and again, we tell clients, “The more we know about you, the more we can do for you.”

• “Being exceptional at things we can control.” We can’t control the markets, but we can help mitigate investment risk with strategies that help clients achieve realistic financial outcomes, with the minimal degree of risk required to do so. Using Merrill Lynch Wealth Management research and portfolios, we may build on both with input from the firm’s analysts – while accounting for each client’s risk tolerance, investment timeline, need for liquidity, and financial goals. We also think it’s important to help clients optimize their saving and spending habits, and other behavior that can brighten their financial picture.

At Hayne Moon & Associates, we strive to provide a measure of acumen, attention, and genuine familiarity that clients may not have experienced previously. Our goal? To develop an intimate understanding of how each client views his or her wealth and the world – through a defined process.

In fact, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has asked us to share our approach with other groups in the firm. We’ve named it “The Green Folders” because, among other things, the detailed notes we take during each client conversation are placed in a client’s green folder, which we review at subsequent meetings. Doing so helps clients see where they’ve been and what we’ve discussed. Clients can also expect that we will:

• Help them “see around corners” to prepare for circumstances they anticipate and those they don’t.

• Suggest meeting at a client’s home or office. This can give us insights we wouldn’t otherwise have.

• Engage with both spouses, whenever possible. Learning from clients is not a “one-time” event.

Ultimately, we craft a “living strategy” for each client that evolves over time. It reflects our appreciation of what drives and concerns them – what they want for themselves, their kids and grandkids… whether they want their wealth to benefit society… and how can we address their financial challenges.

Depending on a client’s needs, we can also coordinate with their CPA and attorney – and call upon Bank of America Private Bank specialists – to align tax-minimization and estate planning strategies. We can also offer access to Bank of America, N.A. for residential and securities-based lending.


From the Brush Country to the Hill Country, throughout Texas and 28 other states nationwide, the clients of Hayne Moon & Associates demand and deserve results.
